What is AI church translation?+
AI church translation turns a speaker’s live speech into another language using software. Exbabel delivers translated audio and written captions to attendees’ devices, helping multilingual congregations follow spoken services. Translation can contain mistakes and should be tested with your speakers and languages.
How do attendees listen or read?+
The church shares its session QR code or access link. Attendees open it in a browser, or enter the session code, then choose an available language. For translated audio, they press play and use headphones. Written captions are available for supported languages and session configurations.
Do attendees need a church translation app?+
An app download is not required for browser access. Attendees need a compatible phone, tablet, or computer and an internet connection. Test the devices and browsers your congregation will use before the service.
What equipment does the church need?+
The host needs a computer, a supported browser, a reliable internet connection, and a clear speech input. That input can come from a microphone or a sound mixer through a compatible audio interface. Listeners use their own devices; dedicated translation receivers are not required for this browser workflow.
Can we use our sound mixer?+
Yes. Route a speech feed from your mixer to the host computer through a compatible audio interface, then choose that device in Exbabel’s audio input selector and allow browser microphone access. Your connection depends on the mixer, interface, and computer. Check the full signal path in rehearsal.
Which languages support audio and captions?+
Spoken audio and written captions have different coverage. Voice availability also depends on the plan and selected voice. Confirm your source language, target languages, and required output modes in the product and during your demo; do not assume every written language has an audio voice.
Can it translate sermons and scripture references?+
Exbabel can translate spoken sermons, but names, scripture references, accents, and theological terms can be mistranscribed or mistranslated. Rehearse representative passages with a fluent reviewer. Keep the scripture text and references available in your congregation’s preferred Bible translation rather than relying on AI to reproduce an exact quotation.
Does it replace a human interpreter?+
That depends on the service. AI can help provide routine language access when an interpreter is unavailable. A skilled human interpreter is preferable when pastoral sensitivity, nuance, or exact meaning needs active judgment. A hybrid approach can combine AI access with human review and support.
What happens if the connection drops?+
Live translation requires internet access for the host and attendees. A lost connection can interrupt audio or captions. Check connectivity and the active session, then help listeners rejoin as needed. Plan a backup such as a human interpreter or prepared translated notes; do not depend on offline translation or automatic recovery.
How can we test it before a service?+
Book a church demo, then rehearse your intended setup before Sunday. Use your mixer or microphone, actual speakers, target languages, and attendee devices. Ask a fluent listener to check the audio and captions, and include names and scripture references from a representative sermon.
Is Exbabel a real-time church translation system?+
Yes. Exbabel is a real-time church translation system: the host streams speech from the church computer and listeners receive translated audio or captions in their chosen language within seconds. It is a live service, not pre-recorded translation. Because accuracy depends on audio quality and supported language pairs, rehearse your setup before Sunday.
